Sieglinde: I don't know much about the Eastern rites, but they've always seemed to have a certain air of elegance and reverence around them that is often missing from the Roman rite. Thank you for your compliments.

I didn’t read the article either, but I do agree that chant, and a ‘foreign’ (meaning not commonly spoken) liturgical language do much to foster reverence. The prostopinije chant of the Ruthenian Byzantine Church transports me just the same as Gregorian Chant does the Romans. Well said.

I wanted to read this article but never got around to it. I suppose if I had actually really wanted to read it, I would have made time for it. However, I think I forgot about it.

Let me know when the next Latin Mass and chanting is… if it seems to work in my schedule, I will try to make it by.
